In the Beginning....
Yeah, it all began when I was born, prettymuch, Dad's a retired engineman, and he got me into it, playing with handed-down HO scale rollingstock, namely Indian Pacific cars and "Lima" (an el-cheapo brand) 44 class locos .
So I caught on, the first holiday I went on that I can remember, was to Nevertire NSW. A train trip was the order of the day, and, yeah, I was so excited, I slept on a mattress outside the front door, and woke up on the dot of 5 am. We went on the Dubbo XPT, and I couldn't stop jumping around on the trip, and Dad, being the great bloke he is, arranged with the driver, who he discovered he was a long-lost friend and neighbour, from earlier years living out at Dubbo, for a cab ride from Orange to Dubbo. Boy was I made now!
<- <- Dad snapped a photo of me at the Nevertire Down Home Signal, since dismantled :(
Anyway, on with the story, getting to Dubbo, the connection for the onward journey was.................a bus. Yuck! Boy did that make me one unhappy 4 year old. I didn't complain much, because Dad promised we'd see more trains when we got there. He was too right!! I couldn't believe I could get so close to a train with no fence!!

And Now
NR22 leads Diverted 2PS7 through Picton NSW.
I still manage to get into the wrong place at the right time, just check out the pic of me at left! Yup! That's a tamper!
Together with a few mates, we have formed the Secret Gunzel Outer Circle. But SHHHH its a secret ;)
Together, we go trainspotting around Sydney, but, when we've had enough of having electric wire gantries for electric trains get in the way, we take a 1/2 day retreat out to places such as Picton and Douglas Park. In My opinion Photography in the bush is much more fun than it is in the city because there's no wires getting in the way, the people are nicer, and $3 buys you a shovel size feed of hot chips!!
